FAQ

What educational format does EDS offer?

The European branch of EDS develops hybrid format programs. This means that our students can receive information online, which won’t affect high-quality education. Field classes, visits to exhibitions and other design events, as well as individual practice classes in some programs will take place offline.
Due to the war in Ukraine, EDS office in Kyiv currently offers a fully online format of education for the safety of students and speakers.

Do I need to be creative and draw to study and become a designer?

In order to start studying at EDS in design programs and become a specialist after them, drawing skills are not required. After all, we build our courses on mastering absolutely all basic skills, so if you don’t have them – our teachers, curriculum, optimism and perseverance will help you get them.

Is there any age limit to study with you?

We promote self-development and the acquisition of professional education at any age, because at every stage of life a person has individual ambitions and the ability to realize them. Therefore, the age limit for entering our course is only the minimum – you must be of legal age.

Can I study several programs at the same time?

Each of our programs is comprehensive and provides all the necessary knowledge of the sphere for a quick career start. That is why you will not need to combine several courses within the scope of acquiring one profession.

If you want to improve your qualifications, you can choose additional long-term or short-term programs in turn. Our training is focused on acquiring a full-fledged profession, with a replete program of both theoretical and practical classes, so our students have never combined diverse programs, because it seems like a difficult task.

If you are undecided about a direction, EDS regularly organizes thematic webinars and meetings to get acquainted with speakers of each program so that our prospective students can become more familiar with the teaching style, the structure of the course, its benefits and the projects that our graduates have already implemented.

What languages are the courses held in?

At the moment, our courses are available in Ukrainian and Russian. If you know them, you are free to visit our program pages. On each of them you will find an active link to the online course created by our team for the Ukrainian EDS office.
All of our programs will be available in English very soon. Updated and transformed courses, new speakers and new European world-class events await you.

What skills should you have to enter the desired program?

Each program is focused on acquiring a whole complex of basic and specialized knowledge in each field, as well as on a significant share of practice during training. Therefore, special skills, professional or higher education are not required for obtaining creative professions at EDS. It’s enough to be able to use a computer at the level of a confident user.

What will I get after studying at EDS?

During their education, EDS students create a small portfolio of their first projects, which will help them take the first steps in their careers and get their first clients. Students who successfully defend their graduation theses receive a diploma approved by CIAAD and IIDA in accordance with international quality standards.

Does the School assist with employment?

Many talented students manage to find their first clients on their own while still studying at EDS. The School assistance is about creating a network of continuous acquaintance and communication with leading figures, as well as ensuring participation in specialized events in the field of design.
Do you have any questions? Our managers know all the answers for sure. All you have to do is just to contact them through the form.

What percentage of students drop out?

We set up the School functioning process in such a way that every student can get to know the team, speakers, attend open classes and finally choose the direction they like the most before studying. As a result, our courses are attended by motivated people who begin their professional path already during their studies, getting the most out of their education. That is why almost no one leaves education voluntarily or changes the program in the process.
